Just want to send love and thanks to my friends!

Having a rough spot at the moment, and feeling vulnerable. Laying in a hospital bed for a couple of days, with too much time to think existential stuff that I probably shouldn’t engage in if I want to stay positive.

So, instead I think of my friends. And all of the times we had together. Movies, dining out, amusement parks, classes in school together, club dancing, concerts, travel, birthdays, holidays and special events. Family is one thing that follows you for life. But friends are like the volunteers who stick with you no matter what. And what could be greater than that?

It’s funny how best friends get shuffled though, phasing in and out of prominence in your life. Maybe less this year than the last. Probably because they get busy, develop relationships, have other interests, move away, or they just feel like disappearing for a while. But then they come back into frequent contact, and they make you happy all over again. And they allow you feel like your special spot in this world, in this shared space and time, is justified and worthwhile.

Nobody is perfect, and sometimes unintentionally goofy things get said, and gosh, that is the worst when you’ve stepped on a friend’s toes, and they don’t necessarily want to talk to you for a while. It hurts a lot. (So, sorry for and dumb stuff I ever said unintentionally, hon.) Hopefully, you or they can just get past it; waiting long enough till the embarrassment or sour feeling, or whatever other stressful issues happening — that they are worked out enough, so you both can get back to doing the things that matter most: Being there for one another as much as you can.

So, I just want to shout out to all my best besties. Especially these fine folks, who put up with all my anxiety and challenges, over and over again. Love you guys so much!
